DANIEL J. SULLIVAN TRIAL LAWYER

DANIEL J. SULLIVAN TRIAL LAWYER

My friend of many years  Daniel Sullivan died of lung cancer the morning of July 1, 2012 in Seattle. He  was 86 years old.

Dan was a plaintiff's trial lawyer. He was the Washington  State Trial Lawyers  Association president in DAN1974-75, WSTLA Trial Lawyer of the Year winner in 1984 andrecipient of the then-WSTLA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.

Dan was my mentor and my friend. It was Dan I turned to for professional help. We associated on many cases and worked together many times. We enjoyed each others company and laughed a lot. Dan had that great Irish sense of humor. He was a great trial lawyer with an enormous heart and a high sense of ethics. It was impossible not to like him and I learned to love him like a brother. I will miss him, but the good he did will live on. An Irish blessing on you Dan.

  1. I almost joined Dan along with my best friends from law school in 1974. I decided I would join a defense firm to learn the ropes. But time went by quickly, and 21 years later I joined Paul. Dan remained my great friend. The changes he made in the law, informed consent being one them, made it possible for us on occasion to prevail in the face of tough odds. Paul took up the flag and marched forward. Many years later I joined my great fried, Paul. With luck and hard work, we will continue what he and Dan started. Joel Cunningham
